Privacy Policy
for a Chatbot Who Forgets Everything

⚠️ Spaz is confidently wrong about most things. He is not wrong about this page. This is a real description of what SpazAI collects, what it sends where, and what it keeps. The jokes are decorative. The data practices are not.

1. The Short Version

SpazAI does not ask you to create an account. It does not ask for your name, your email, or your address. It does not sell data, because there is nothing to sell and Spaz would misplace the money.

What does happen: standard website analytics run in your browser, and the prompt you type is sent to Anthropic's API so a response can be generated. Everything else below is detail on those two things.

2. Analytics

Google Analytics 4 runs on this site. It records the usual: page views, session duration, referring site, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type. It is used to see which pages people actually visit. IP addresses are handled by Google under their own terms.

Microsoft Clarity also runs on this site. Clarity records anonymised session behaviour — scrolls, clicks, and heatmaps — so it is possible to see where the layout confuses people. Clarity's own privacy policy governs how they process that data.

Neither tool is given your name or email, because SpazAI never collects one.

3. The Prompts You Type

Where they go: when you submit a prompt, it is sent to the Anthropic API, which generates Spaz's reply. That request is made by a serverless function on this site.

What is kept: nothing. SpazAI does not write your prompts to a database, a log file, or a spreadsheet. Once the response comes back, the prompt is gone from this end.

What Anthropic does with it: that is governed by Anthropic's own privacy policy and API terms, not by this page.

What you should not type: anything private. Do not put passwords, card numbers, medical details, or anything you would not want leaving your browser into a novelty chatbot. This is true of every chatbot, but it is especially true of one whose defining feature is not paying attention.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

SpazAI's own storage: one browser localStorage entry named spazai-theme, which remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your browser.

Third-party cookies: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies to distinguish one visit from another. If you block them in your browser, or use an ad blocker, the site works exactly the same. Spaz will not notice and will not complain.

5. Buy Me a Coffee

Spaz asks for coffee constantly. If you actually buy one, that transaction happens entirely on Buy Me a Coffee — a separate company, on their site, under their privacy policy and their payment processing.

SpazAI never sees your payment details. No card number, no billing address, nothing. All that reaches this side is Spaz's unearned sense of accomplishment.

6. Other Third Parties

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, and links out to AI Beginner and BlairTS. It is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server access logs the way every web host does.

Once you follow a link off this site, that site's privacy policy applies, not this one. SpazAI is not responsible for their practices, and Spaz is not responsible for anything at all.

7. Children

SpazAI is family-friendly in tone and contains no adult content, but it is not built or targeted for children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from them. There is no account system to collect information through.

8. Your Rights, and the Awkward Part

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data a site holds about you. SpazAI holds none. There is no account, no profile, no stored prompt history, and no mailing list.

For the analytics data held by Google and Microsoft, those requests go to them directly — they are the ones holding it. You can also opt out at the source by blocking those scripts in your browser.

Spaz has already forgotten you. He means it warmly.

9. Changes and Contact

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of the page changes with it. Spaz will also mark the occasion with a poem about an unrelated subject, which is not a legal notice and should not be treated as one.
